Christmas Eve
This Christmas we got to have my sister and her family come all the way out to Midland. Trust me that is a long drive for a family with a small baby. Very long! I was excited to have them come out. Becca and I think the same, when she got here she asked if we have any traditions with our family for Christmas. I had just gotten done talking to time about this and we had decided we needed to start something. We decided to make surgar cookies and decorate them on Christmas eve.

It started out with me making the cookie dough, I figured the one batch would be good. You know kids you can count on about five to six cookies decorated then they are done. Usually that means that we are stuck doing the rest by our selves. And you also know how surgar cookies go a long way. So I start my one batch and Tim pipes in "Your going to make a double batch of cookies right?" I tell him that I think one would be enough then my sister, who is supposed to be on MY side says, "Kymi I think a double batch would be good". So I make the double batch of cookies. Let me just say we had cookies coming out our ears!! The boys did have a good time pressing the cookies, then anthony would roll out the dough for the next part. They did a great job. I was busy taking the cookies of the sheet after they were done baking and Conor was busy making a mess, as always. He like the sound the pans make as they slam against the ground. Not nerve racking at all, it is a beautiful sound. (And yes my hair is dark, that is another new thing we are trying out!) The big boys were busy with a new tradition started by Becca as well. The Monkey Game, she claims it is "super addictive". I don't see the point, but appartently it is "super addictive "Tim still finds time to play it when he has a free moment. Thanks Becca for that! :)
Yep, even Tim helped with the cookied decorating. He was getting pretty creative with it all. Making stripes on candy canes and such. Very good!
Even Conor got in on it, Of Course! He painted more of Becca's face then he did any cookies.
And here we are with our spoil! It went well into the night. A LOT of cookies. In fact I had one this morning. They are super good. The kids did very good, Jaren was told he had to decorate at least five or he couldn't eat any, he did seven. He went above and beyond. Anthony was there for the long haul. But in the end we were stuck slapping frosting on cookies just to be done. In fact we ran out of frosting before we ran out of cookies. Who does that?

Christmas Day!
We woke up pretty early Christmas Day, we have kids who have been asking since the first of December if they could open thier gifts. So the morning came fast. Surprisingly to early for some of our little ones! Tim and I got up and did our parental duties. Then we released the kids from thier rooms. Witb it being Becca and I first Christmas with our own babies it was fun to see how they would react to opening presents, Keane was just young enough that he looked at the gift and gave it a good pound once and a while. Conor is old enough that he was ready to tear into the thing. He has been tearing inot them for about a week now so he was confused at why all the sudden he was aloud to do this.
But in the end he enjoyed playing in the paper more than anything else. That was the cooles part for him.

All in all it was good to have my sister here for Christmas, Thanks for coming out Sis! It was neat to see our kids togeather. From Conor being in everything and wanting to play rough with Keane like his brothers do with him...to Keane wondering what the heck happened to his world, this is nothing that he knows and nothing that he is used too. It was good to see our kids togeather. Maybe someday Keane will be able to give Conor a little of what he deserves, Keane loooks a little frightend here. But it was a good time anyway.
It is crazy to think that next year my kids will be older than they are right now. I would love for them to stay the age that they are right now. Anthony is at the age were everything is fun, he loves everything. Not yet a teenager but old enough to be able to relate to things. Jaren is just Jaren, you gotta love that kid. He is happy just hanging out. Then there is my Conor baby. I want to be able to cherish every moment, but they are flying by so fast. It was an awesome Christmas!!
