Friday we pick up the kids from school and head to Dallas for the
Metroplex Opener. Anthony's team was playing in it Saturday and Sunday. We get up on Saturday morning to do a little sight seeing and it was FREEZING and blowing like a Hurricane. It was so cold we couldn't even enjoy the games.

See...the flags are straight out!

They won both of the games played. That put us playing at 12 on Sunday. We were all hoping for a better day.
Before the game we headed out to find some "warm" gear. WE did find a few things that helped out. The games on Sunday were played...we played three and won all three. Yep, we were Tournament Champions!!!! (It is a good thing....we didn't want to brave the cold for nothing!)
Here is Jaren and Conor with their warmer duds on. Jaren has the thing to cover his ears and Conor had the hat. He surprisingly kept it on...but the mittens weren't as lucky.
Ant up to bat...he did get a couple hits. And if he gets on base you can guarantee he will make it home. He is so fast...seriously.
After the first game we went with the team to this pizza joint and eat lunch. Anthony loves hanging out with his teammates.
Hanging out watching the second game...notice the tarp used to block the stands from the wind. It really did help. That wind was horrible. I do have to mention what a great kid Jaren was this trip. I haven't been able to watch a baseball game since Conor was born. You know how it is...running this way and that. Jaren took on the duties and took awesome care of him all weekend. It was SO great to sit and watch Anthony play.
And the Champions are West Texas Roughnecks....good Job boys!!!

Lined up to get
their trophy's. They were really happy with them...Anthony couldn't wait to show us his. I think he may of slept with it that night. Okay, it was just on the way home.

Here they all are...Champions of the first annual
Metroplex Opener. Awesome Job Boys!!!

Keane has that hat! Seriously. He never keeps it on, but he did for a while in Show Low during new years. You guys sure go on a lot of adventures for sports, huh! Hooray!
