On Father's Day we went to a Rockhounds game. For thirty minutes before the game the kids were able to go out on the field and play catch with their Dad. It was pretty cool to see them out on the field playing catch, of course Tim was all over this. But to our surprise there were actual Rockhounds players that came out and played catch with the kids too. Here are a few pictures of the happy outing.

This is a Danny Borrell, he is a pitcher for the Rockhounds. He was playing catch with Jaren, then he started to actually show him some pointers. No, they aren't having Karate Kid flashbacks, he is telling Jaren that balance has everything to do with baseball. Especially if you are pitching. About that point Anthony takes some interest in what he is showing Jaren and goes to check it out. Anthony shows him what he's got, then a few more pointers. Both kids were pretty happy about the experience, but Anthony summed up like this. "That was so cool, for about 10 min I got to live my dream of being a pitcher for the Majors." All it took was 10 min and these ball players made my kids day! That is why we love our Midland Rockhounds. They take the time to do little things like that. So this who Jaren was playing catch with, this is who Ant was playing catch with. Conor and I were just hanging out in behind the fence above the field. Let's face it not all kids are as good as ours at baseball. So it wasn't to safe down there on the field for Conor.

I hope all you fathers had a great day. I'm very happy about the Dad's I have in my life. Both the ones that were Dad's to us and the Dad of my kids. The kids and I have it pretty good.
